Pre-race routine:

Typical breakfast - coffee, bagel, cream cheese, hard-boiled egg, banana.

Event warmup:

A little time to stretch before the race. Nervous since Achilles in both ankles still tender.

Comments:

Ran a very good race. It was a PR, and the first mile at 7:00 -- can't ask for anything better.

What would you do differently?:

nothing.

Post race

Warm down:

Tried not to throw-up -- I felt a little sick at end. Water helped.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

Nice the elevations on the course, but crossing a major road twice did create some headaches.

Ran a very nice race. Matthew was out of the gate fast, and the two of us did the first mile in 7 minutes even - a very quick pace for both of us. The 2nd mile included a nice double hill (climb the first, turn and climb a 2nd) and resulted in a slower 7:52; pulled away from Matthew here. Got a little wind back to do the third mile in 7:44. Final time by my watch was 23:38. My fastest 5k race. Matthew finished about a minute or so after me, and Kerrin was not too far behind that. So, in five weeks I have set PR's in Half Marathon (1:59:29), 5-miles (39:50) and 5k (23:38). Very happy with how the year is concluding with my running.
Course:	Relatively flat course, with a couple of hills up/down.
