Do any of the BT'ers that watched or worked the race know how many accidents there were on the bike and if everyone is ok? I know I rode past two people down and being looked at by EMT's.

I was wondering this also. I would think that riding on wet roads for that distance would really put stress on your body and would cause faster fatigue. Did anyone see anyone changing tires? That would be my nightmare scenario would be that I would have multiple flats.

I saw one ambulance putting a racer on a stretcher. I saw maybe 6 people dealing with flats.
Todd, don't worry too much about getting a flat. Just be prepared to deal with it. There are sag motorcycles all over the course if you somehow get 3 flats.  Honestly, though, at the end of the day 10 minutes changing a flat might be a nice break.

Before I started my T2 shift at 1pm the EMTs I was chatting with said there had been 9 bike crashes already.  Saw a few scraped up dudes come into T2 later that day.

Hey.....talk to me about the run course.  In past years when you pass the Art center, you had to hang a left and go out onto Rio Salado down to the corner at Priest where there was an aide station in the fence of that building on the corner. This year they had you go straight down the new path to Priest.  Where did they add on that extra bit you no longer had to do 3 times? Had to add up to 1/4 mile or more.  Just curious where they found to tack that missing distance back on. Anyone know? (I haven't pulled up the map yet to try to figure it out).

You got it.  I like it better. Running along the lake at TCA is nice.

Totally agree. They finished that path last year before IMAZ and I was hoping they would change the course so we could run on it, but no. Booo.
