I absolutely did Thank my wife... I think it was a very nice thought...

I am not having an attitude..  I just always like to run/swim/bike fairly well considering everything.  This race was just so way off...

I am lucky to have a great wife and to do a 10k on Grand Cayman.. But the race results sucked... And that does matter to me.. At least a little...

Hhhuuummmm... let it go man. Let it go.

Call it a workout to your racing self, a race to say you raced in Grand Cayman to your experience self, and a wonderful, thoughtful gift to your wife.  I'd also make note of the performance difference as a data point with regard to temperature, humidity, food/drink, etc.  Never know when that might be a handy motivator :-)

I can relate. I did a sprint triathlon the day after a BBQ of steak and a couple beers. I figured it was only a sprint and some gatoriad before I went to bed and in the morning would be good enough. My bike sucked, but my run pace was slower than any race I had ever done, except my first marathon. Worst I ever felt ever.
