Pre-race routine:

Didn't sleep well, up before 5. Ate Rasin Bran, drove to race, registered and sat around.
Event warmup:

Jog through Cobo and to the start line. Did a few 50 m sprints and hoped around until the race started.

Comments:

Dressed for cold rain, but it didn't rain so I was too hot. Shouls have gone with shorts and 2 top layers, no under armor and no jacket. Crowded start and 1st mile. Ran in the fit section, should have entered as fast. Kept a reasonably steady pace, maybe slower in miles 4 and 5, but, happy with the result.
What would you do differently?:

Enter the fast backet to avoid the crowds which cost a lot of time.
