Great story, Autumn.

One year ago, I had just returned from a visit to my parents in NY where we spent a day in Lake Placid the week of IMLP and I was toying with the idea of doing a triathlon. I was in decent running shape, but had never biked and when I first got in the pool, I couldn't do 100m without wanting to barf up a lung.

One year after that, I've completed a 10k with a huge decrease in my PR from previous years, a mini-sprint, an Olympic, I'm signed up for a sprint and a 1/2 IM, and I'll probably sign up for another one in there somewhere. And since I apparently don't have enough pain in my life, I'll be back in Lake Placid next July for the race. On top of all that, I'm in the best shape of my life, I'm eating decent (though I could do SO much better), and I've found an amazing community of like-minded idiots to talk with about this ridiculous lifestyle (thanks Ron!).

Thanks for your story Autumn. Having just finished my first tri (and feeling disappointed at my performance) it's very inspiring to hear how far you've come in one year!

Thanks for sharing your story, Autumn.

Last summer, I first realized I had triathlon potential after adding swimming to my repertoire as a way to recover from being totally incapacitated due to spinal misalignment. I did a couple of bricks and put it on the menu for this year.

This year, I've done a duathlon, a 15.5 mi. run, two sprint tris and have a 2 mile OW swim coming up. My back is healthy enough that my foot now suffers from overuse, but that is still far ahead from where I was.
