Performance: Good
Ran as good as I could. Opening mile 7:06, followed by a 7:35; so I knew another PR was in-sight. At about the 1.5 mile mark, began running with a DM & CRR friend JeffC. I told him this pace would put me at a new PR, so he really helped pull me along the course. Third mile was a long slow uphill with that split of 7:56. Jeff then began accelerating to really force me to reach deep down inside for the energy to kick. And I did. Jeff came in at 23:32 and I was one second behind him. So, my couple week-old PR for a 5k was bested by another four seconds. I am exhausted still now - a few hours later - but I think that is a fluids issue too. But, very pleased to end the 2010 racing year (this is my last scheduled race) with a PR. Big thanks again to JeffC for pulling me around the course!!
Course: Kind of hilly course; always seemed to either be going up or down.
