beanmj - 2010-12-14 2:59 AM Related question: how do you classify DFL? Age group or overall? Is the last 1% "close enough" to be DFL or do you have absolutely be DFL?

My thoughts: last in your age group.

For F/M/B-OP, I like broadening MOP. 25/50/25, though sometimes I think FOP should be smaller - somelike like 10/60/30.

I think the "DF" part of DFL is pretty clear about what kind of "last"

Otherwise, you're just age-group last.
That's right, you're just age-group last. Not last enough. Sorry, it's been a long day.

So I hear.

I have been all kinds of lasts and I am quite proud of the distinctions.

For example, PDFLs (Penultimate DFLs) do not usually get their own police escort sweepers.

But once in a while in a few things I've been among the firsts, and it does make a difference to me (ESPECIALLY if any of the prizes include food) whether that's DF-First or whether it's Second Place.

cstoulil - 2010-12-14 3:59 AM Well after I discount everyone that finishes in front of me, I'm FOP, followed by the next person who is MOP, and then the next person who is BOP, or DFL, whichever one you want to use.

So I guess I am FOP of the BOP.

If you can hum BBOPOMOBOP during a race, I think this automatically qualifies you for BOP.

Of course there are the more granular breakdowns such as FOMOP, BOFOP, and MOBOP

i always consider the "pack" to be the 3 people on the podium.  1st=FOP 2nd=MOP 3rd=BOP

everyone else is just a "finisher"

hate as you feel needed.

For some reason, this makes me think of the song from Hugo The Hippo.
