Any thoughts on getting around the time change and it getting dark so quickly at night, other than getting up in the morning to train. I haven't brought myself to train in the mornings. I do run at work sometimes 3-4 miles on lunch breaks. I make the most of my weekends either swimming or biking or a long run. Any thoughts though?

Indoor trainer for the bike if you don't like riding in the dark.  A treadmill at the gym for running.  Are you not comfortable biking and running in the dark, or just don't have the motivation because of the lack of light?

wouldn't want to bike in the dark cause of idiots on the roads although I do have nice roads to ride on, don't have money to invest in a trainer. A little of it is lack of motivation. my pool I go to closes at 6 during the winter which is almost impossible to get to when I get off at 5. The little things add up. Comfortable running in the dark, do that often on the golf course in my neighborhood. I find the golf course to be the nicest place to run most of the time.

actually have considered biking to and from work a couple days a week maybe I need to persue that again. 14 miles each way total 28 for the day. A guy I work with does this and then runs with me on lunch... its time to be like him.

You should give up, paint your nails, and think of sports that only happen when it's warm and light. )

Bought a trainer at Sports Authority for $76 shipped at their last 25% off sale one item, and they've had that sale once more after I bought it.

Thanks for the motivation but sorry I'd never paint my nails I'm not gay...I've been through some harsh conditions running cross country and track through out high school and college, I'd say more but I don't need to prove myself to anyone. I was just looking for ideas on how to get around the time change.

You could see if your employer would give you a flexible schedule.  Start early or stay late or do both and take a break in the middle of the day.

Uh, lighten up, it was a joke.

But, I agree, often we find the problems when the motivation isn't there (me included).  Get motivated again and you'll find a way.

Get a headlamp, a reflective vest, tights, gloves, set your alarm and HTFU. And no more gay-bashing!
