I'm done work at noon on the 24th and don't have to be at the airport til about 5pm or so... I'm sure I can get a 10km run or something in during that time

I get into London at 5pm on the 25th - needless to say I'm not planning on doing ANYTHING on the 25th and maybe, just maybe venturing outdoors on the 26th.  Maybe.

melbel1038 - 2010-12-17 4:13 PM My plans...stay up until 1am wrapping ALL the presents...while hubby plays World of Warcraft  (as always happens).  Then plan to wake up at the butta$$ crack of dawn...not to run or bike...but to watch my kids tear into it.  Then I will spend 2 hours untwisting wires and cutting zip ties and putting in batteries.  Then off to grandma's to do it all again and eat.  Then nap and then maybe when the dust settles I'll go for a run or something.

Yep. This pretty much what I will be doing.

And on the 26th I will be celebrating my 31st birthday.

You're doing it right.

Christmas Eve I'll run, Christmas day is family only.  Sunday after Christmas will be bike.

New Year's Eve?  Our office is closed, so I'm going to try and break all my distance PR's for S/B/R.  I'm going to do a 10K run, then a 2 mile swim, then a 50 mile bike ride—that should be a decent way to end the year.

Christmas day will be on the trainer for an hour and a half.  I will have done everything else throughout the week and thats all I'll have left.  However, the bike will be after all the family activities are complete.  I am so glad I don't have all the wire ties, boxes and Barbie dolls as in years past.  Now it's all clothes and gas cards for my kids.  Well........I do miss those day with all the toys and watching their eyes light up.

crmorton - 2010-12-17 9:04 AM Some people call me crazy, but I have my workouts already planned for these days (you gotta think ahead when traveling to visit family!)

Christmas Eve: 2 hr endurance ride on fluid trainer, P90X Yoga (mid-morning/early afternoon)
Christmas Day: Easy run, any pace I want, 3miles + (early early morning, streets will be empty!)
Boxing Day: 18mile long run with a competitive family member (morning)

What do you have planned?

Over the years I have found it best to not get too structured, but we have fallen into a bit of a routine the last few years.

Christmas eve day - Nordic skiing

Christmas day first thing in the morning - An hour on the indoor bike trainers

Boxing Day - My wife usually runs the Boxing Day 10 miler in Hamilton, Ontario(One of the oldest road races in North America).

BTW - I like your wetsuit ;-)

I will have a small trainer ride or hit the treadmill for 5 miles or so, nothing to big you got to enjoy the holidays they are so few and far between not to spend with the family.

Christmas Eve - 1 hour on the trainer.

Christmas & Boxing Day - stay alive.  Means no working out or the wife will kill me.
