Pre-race routine:

up at 5am, typical tri breakfast of Cheerios and yogurt smoothie; one gel about 10 minutes before race start

some short sprints, jumping, anything to try to stay loose and warm up

All I can say is WOW! It was hard, it was fun, it was satisfying.

I've been working with a run coach the last two months and it has really helped my running and confidence. Our race plan was:
miles 1&2 @ ~10:00 min/mile
miles 3&4 @ ~9:50 min/mile
mile 5 @ tempo pace, ~9 min/mile
final sprint ~fartlek pace
ignore all the other runners and just concentrate on hitting my pace goals, a little faster throughout the race, leave it all on the course
