The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping

I take this back. I just heard the version by The Donnas and like it better.

Scout7 - 2010-12-21 9:12 AM "Father Christmas" - the Kinks "I Won't Be Home For Christmas" - Blink 182

I'm not sure I ever heard the Kinks version.  Or were you thinking about "I Believe In Father Christmas" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer?  In any case I would add that one.

Oh, and "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee.

Greg Lake did this after leaving the trio somewhere in 1975, but allowed Emerson and Palmer to play afterwards.  This is a powerful Pop Christmas tune.  Here's the original vid -

TriAya - 2010-12-21 9:39 AM "Jingle Bells" but only the Jingle Cats version. puts me in peals of irrepressible, drooling, screaming mirth every time. i have no idea why, as i don't like cats, i certainly don't like meowing, and not a big fan of 'jingle bells' either.

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer"

I have both of those full-length albums. Yes, yes indeed, both Elmo and Patsy AND the Jingle Cats have albums, all to themselves.

uh, i ... ahem ... errr ... me too.

I do still like Jingle Bells best on that album which i believe is also the opening number.

My favourite Christmas song is "I Believe in Father Christmas," which is already mentioned, so to contribute in the true spirit of this joint, I will say Merry Christmas From the Family.    Cool

This is actually from that great song writer Robert Earl Keen.

Yes!  I love that song.

Also a good not-at-all-traditional one:  Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis, by Tom Waits (originally from 1978, but also recently covered very nicely by Neko Case).

Pretty much anything by Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Burl Ives.  Also, David Archuleta does a really good version of O Holy Night.

Not entirely a Christmas song, but" The Prayer" with Celine Dion and Bocelli (I think that's right) is truly beautiful and proof yet again that we were created by an amazing God.
