As I'm an inqiusitive lad, what are some of the holiday songs that COJ likes best?

My top few are, in no particular order...
Holly Jolly Christmas
Carol of the Bells (with lyrics)
Fairytale of New York

And also Paul Schaffer's impression of Cher singing Oh Holy Night.

Birthday of a King. I got a chance to play that one on a flugel horn on Christmas Day at my church my senior year. Not an easy one to play.

I love ALLof it. I am a holiday music slut. I have 30-some christmas CDs ranging from Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics; Christmas in the Stars (yes, Star Wars); Elmo and Patsy; and Jingle Cats...to Chirstmas With Elvis (one of several), Motown Holiday Classics, A Glorious Gospel Christmas; Classic Country Christmas (quite a few of those); Classic Christmas (Bing, Frank, etc.)... and on and on and on and on.

My favorite songs... tough one, but...Blue Christmas (by Elvis is the best); Thank God It's Christmas (Queen); and O Holy Night.

Wait...I will say, The Christmas Shoe song should be abolished from this earth. That is my ONLY complaint with 24/7 holiday music.

Whirling Dirvishes - You're a mean on Mr. Grinch
Baby it's cold outside. I like most versions, but my current favorite is the one on the Elf soundtrack with Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone.

We have similar tastes.  I like O Holy Night and Christmas Canon Rock, too.

Right now I have the Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas Trilogy CD blasting in my lab.

"Jingle Bells" but only the Jingle Cats version. puts me in peals of irrepressible, drooling, screaming mirth every time. i have no idea why, as i don't like cats, i certainly don't like meowing, and not a big fan of 'jingle bells' either.

While not a fan of the original tune 'Twelve Days of Christmas', I simply cannot get enough of the mashed-up version of the song done by Straight No Chaser.  All a capella, and mixed with Toto?  I mean, c'mon, it doesn't get much better.

This one was introduced to me last year, and it instantly went onto my favorites list. They've got another one -- Who Spiked the Eggnog -- that's a lot of fun as well.

I love that version!  I heard it for the first time this year on one of my Pandora stations, and immediately made it a station of its own.

Good choices.

"Happy Christmas"-John Lennon. Celine Dion should be hunted down and shot for remaking this.

"I believe in Father Christmas"-Emerson, Lake and Palmer

I have both of those full-length albums. Yes, yes indeed, both Elmo and Patsy AND the Jingle Cats have albums, all to themselves.
