Hey Everyone,

Just wondering who is doing the 2011 Country Music marathon or half marathon. Have you started training? If not, when will you start?

pushed the 1/2 I was going to do (NO 70.3) out to Kansas so I might stick with the full this time around..

I'm running the full marathon. I started training about two weeks ago, but I've been messing with my schedule trying to figure out the best way to ensure I reach my primary goal for this season which is the Timberman 70.3 in August.

Excited about the race though! I'm a big country music fan so what could be better than exercising and listening to country music... for hopefully only 3:40 min.....

I did the 1/2 last year (PR of 2:12:ish)....doing the 1/2 again this year.  Last year was my first season in TN after moving from Omaha, NE.

1) there are a whole hell of a lot more hills in Nashville than in Omaha...
2) there is a whole hell of a lot more humidity in Nashville than in Omaha...

Even with that, i was still able to PR my 1/2 last year, and this year i hope to get close to the 2:00:00 mark.  i am getting better at running the hills, and seem to be a bit faster at this point than i was last year (had a better finish time and pacing in the Preds 5k this season than last).  I'm also doing the Higdon 1/2 Intermediate plan, and have been doing pretty well with the runs and keeping on schedule.  I have been swimming and biking as well, so usually working out 1-2 times a day 6 days a week.  So i hope to be in much better shape this year.

Good luck to you all and hope to see you out on the course

Revised CMM course announced.

Makes a lot more sense even if it adds some hillage.

Now if they'd just get rid of the nonsensical parts of the half course - out-n-back on JRP and the loop on Deadrick/4th/Union.
