It WAS a great race.  I am already planning to do it next year, even if it's not "ironman".  Plus my sister just did her very first sprint tri last week and guess what, she's hooked!  She said she wants to do a 70.3 so we will be at Racine next year.  It was so great to meet all of you, hope to see you again!  Good luck to those of you doing the Wisconsin Full Ironman!

Just signed up for Racine 2012.  My first HIM.  Reading this thread was exactly what I needed to figure out some of the details that don't get printed in the official guide.  Cannot wait to get there next year!

buckeyeguy77 - 2011-08-14 10:02 PM I saw that too. I still can't figure it out. Hopefully Ironman does it next year, it was a great race.

The 2012 Racine race is now listed with the other 70.3 races on the IM site.

I am registered for Racine 70.3 2012 and was checking into places to stay. Was thinking about doing a vacation rental of a house since we have family that will be traveling as well. Anyone know of some good places to stay in Racine that are reasonable?

From VRBO - this is the only one. I would figure during the summer they would want you to rent by the week.

I am staying at the Radisson. I don't know if it is good or not but heard it is very close to the race start.

I stayed at the Radisson, it was very nice. Plan to stay there again in 2012.
