Master 2158 | Subject: RE: 15lbs in 15 weeks Hey All, Sorry I missed my post yesterday. 214. Not good, but not bad, I guess. Diet is good this week, so I am hoping to see progress next week. It always seems to take a week or two for good behavior to help, but bad stuff happens fast! |

Hopefully this doesnt mean the dreadful plateau is on its way?? Lets see what happens next week before freaking out :-) all in all though, I am pleased that I met my Feburary goal to reach 163. For March, the goal is to get to 158. 150s here I come damnit! Edited by Makukula 2011-03-02 8:20 AM |

Member 50 | Subject: RE: 15lbs in 15 weeks 159.8 This week!! And as everyone here will probably agree, the decimal is super important...it's the difference between being in the 160s and being in the 150s. I've made it under 160 for the first time probably since middle school. only 5 pounds to go before the primary focus becomes maintenance. |

Master 2158 | Subject: RE: 15lbs in 15 weeks Hey All, Just wanted to say this has been great so far. Although I have been tracking my intake for a while, having this challenge is helping me stick to my eating plan a little better. Luckily, the added workouts means I can have an extra cookie here and there.
Also, I have found that eating a good, but not too big breakfast seems to help me along the way. Not sure why it is that way, but it always seems to work for me. Yogurt with protein powder and fruit gets me up and at em, but then I feel hungry at around 10-11 AM, just in time for a small snack. If I skip breakfast or eat something larger, I don't feel as good. It sounds weird, but getting the "hungry" feeling is one of the signs I use to tell me it is OK to eat. I am trying not to eat just because there is food nearby. Good luck this weekend everyone! |

Veteran 351 | Subject: RE: 15lbs in 15 weeks aaaaand...I'm back to the dreadded 170s. 171.2 to be exact. I'm gonna blame this on the extremely large meals I had Sat night and last night. Or the fact that I did practically nothing for 2 weeks. I don't know why I can't wrap my head around this, this time around. |

I am jealous! How did you do it? Tracking, tracking, tracking. I have tracked EVERYTHING that I've eaten since January 3 :-) What did I do differently this time versus all the other times I "tracked" 1. Track everything and I mean, everything..that handful of almonds, that small bag of popcorn, those raisins that I used to top my oatmeal...everything!!! 2. Track everyday, that includes Saturdays and Sundays (didnt do that before), that includes days I am not "good" (didnt do that before) 3.Stop eating out! We used to go out or eat out most nights of the week, since the beginning of the year, that has been reduced to only special occasions. When I eat out, choose a healthy recipe, its ALWAYS possible to find something that is a "healthier" but still tastey option. 4.Buy lots of delicious and healthy foods, I've switched to natural foods, organic foods, whole grains, plenty of fruits and vegetables. Ive tried to cut out most added sugar or refined foods. 5.Stop eating highly processed foods, I try to eat things as close to their natural form as possible. 6.Learn new recipes, bought a cookbook that includes nutrition information...found some key daily recipes that are healthy, delicious and quick...including a delicious and healthy pizza!! 7.Give up "trigger foods". For me, this has meant giving up cookies and chocolates. If I have one cookie, I must have five, if I have one piece of chocolate, I must have a king size bar of whatever. So I have cut them out completely!!! 8. Give myself one treat per day, after dinner. I ALWAYS have something sweet after dinner (see number 7) so instead of completley torturing myself I found something that I can enjoy but is a controlled portion (small cup of rice pudding or a granola bar with my tea does the trick) 9. Give up juices and sodas. I wasnt much of a soda drinker but I LOVE fruit juices, so I have cut them out completely. The only beverages I've had are water and tea (lots and lots of tea). 10. Follow my training plan :-) I think number 10 has been the least important so to say. I have always been fine with my workouts but my eating habits were always the issue. I will loosen up with my "rules" in time, but right now, I need this discipline as I re-learn portion sizes, re-learn that healthy eating can be delicious, and re-learn that I am not controlled by what I eat. What's been important for me is that I have replaced everything I have "given up" with something else. So overall, it doesnt feel like I have given up anything, I am just making better choices :-) |
