Hi,

I'm a 40 y.o.newbie east of Seattle.  I've been lurking here for about
2 weeks and felt inspired, so I joined a triathlon club in Everett, WA.,
and have been to 2 pool swim sessions.  I've got a lot to work on, but
I know it'll come with training (and maybe some swimming lessons).

I'm looking forward to getting fit & having fun with a great group of people.

Ron

TriAya, thank you for your advice, and being the first to respond to my introduction.  I've been trolling the Washington page as well as the newbie page, so I'm getting an idea of who's here and what's going on.  I'm thinking of doing a sprint in Monroe Wa. as my first attempt. http://finishstrongevents.com/triathlon-events/
So now, it's all learning & training with a goal in mind, and a training group to make sure I don't slack.  Thanks again.

briderdt, I'm just outside of Mill Creek.  I just read a post from McFuzz, where a few of you locals got together with someone from out of town for a run and some dinner.  That's why I joined this site.  Becoming friends with someone you haven't met, just by sharing an interest.  That's awesome.
I'm sure I'll see you later.  Thanks for the reply.

When I was bike racing, my team did a LOT of riding out of the Bothel/Mill Creek area, so I'm kind of familiar with it (though it's been a while). I'm more near Tacoma, but I think it would be fin to arrange some meet-ups, maybe some open water swims, or the like as the season approaches. Keep an eye on the Washington forum.

I haven't checked the intro's lately and just came across this. Wasn't too long ago I was first posting here. Yes, the WA group is good. I really enjoyed the last dash & hash we had and looking forward to the next or the next event I can get to. Hope to meet you soon!

Ron,
Welcome to the site. Hope to meet you at one of the upcoming events. As what everyone else was mentioning about the Washington page, please keep your eye on it as there is always something in the works or if you have an idea (OWS, Ride, Run, MTB, Eating Food, etc) please let us know

Thanks for all the welcomes.  I've joined a mentor group, and have been doing some running, learning old bike repair & wishing I could swim worth a carp.

I'm feeling good about my progress, and I'm looking forward to meeting you folks.  Thanks again.

Welcome, Ron!

I always love meeting new BTers, and hanging with old ones, too!    I live east of Seattle....ride all the time in the Sammamish, Fall City, Carnation area.....amongst others.  This year I will be bascially covering all of western WA at some point!

Thanks Leslie, you're one of the folks I've seen a lot around here, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.  I think another month of training, and I'll be ready to join you guys in some runs or rides.  Sammamish area sounds great.  I have an old Costco mountain bike, a 30 year old road bike and 10 year old Nike's.  I'm ready to go.

And I love Oldred's sig file.
