Anyone doing this race?? I've been waiting to register pending the weather. Seems like conditions will be good on Sunday. If anyone has registered... have there been any email updates? I just want to make sure everything is a go before I plunk down my money. While the forecast is good, there's still some mud out there and I want to make sure that the race is still on.
Thanks!

Yes, it's a go ... Race update via email was mostly about how hard miles 6-10 are! The creeks are running high, so prepare for wet feet.

I'm doing the 6k with my girlfriend! Should be fun. I gotta go get some trail shoes.

Then we are going for a ride from the race site.

I would think conditions should be nice.

Thanks for the updates.

Miles 6-10 are tough... it's a very long climb late in the race.

I live in the area... the creek flows have been dropping pretty fast. There will be water, but you can usually jump across the smaller creeks and use stepping stones for the wider ones (like mile 12). It should be possible to keep your feet dry.

Fastyellow - Having said that, the 6k course runs right up the 'Snake Trail' (Upper Sycamore Canyon) which crosses back and forth through the stream quite a few times.

Did everyone have fun??

It was 34 degrees when I left my house (just a few blocks from the race start), my car was covered with ice!

I did manage to keep my feet dry. I saw a few people dive right into the water, but I chose to take an extra few seconds at the creeks to rock-hop and stay dry.

I had a great time...like you, I was surprised at how cold it was. I ran with my girlfriend Ashley at her slow pace....we did the 6k. It was really fun though. I've never really been back in that park....really pretty.
