Pre-race routine:

warmup jog from house to M train. Did not consider enough time for Sunday NYC public transit. A lot of waiting. Transfered three times and ran from 86th street to 99th street.
Event warmup:

The event began about 25 mins already by the time I got there. people were already finishing. They did however let me run the 5 miles. I think, maybe, they'll let me count it as a qualifier as I finished just before they were taking down that finish track thingy.

What would you do differently?:

Get up earlier, pack everything night before, bring a bag to change into something warmer when done. I was fine racing but really had a chill att he end.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking to subway

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This is my first race of the season and I'm just getting stronger. I should have gotten more sleep or get more sleep in general

Event comments:

Nice raise to kick off the running season if you like running in the cold (I do). NYRR races are all very organized. Central Park in the snow was a winter wonderland.

Sorry to hear that you had a hard time getting to the race. It's great you made it and finished it.
I think you are safe on counting this race as a qualifier.  Here is a quote from a notice on the race page, "All registered runners, regardless of whether they run or not, will receive the marathon qualifying credit. "
The park was very beautiful indeed! Good luck to you this season!
