Swim
  • 33m 48s
  • 880 yards
  • 03m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

I only have one thing to say about this swim - I swam towards the wrong buoy. Yes, the wrong buoy. I have no clue how long I actually swam. On the bright side, it kept me from being swum over by the fast men, which I was dreading.
What would you do differently?:

Swim towards the right @#&*@#&#@&* buoy.
Transition 1
  • 05m 37s
Comments:

I felt like this was much quicker than my previous transitions - I cut out some stuff. The time was long because it included running from the beach, and I felt wonky and was very slow.
Bike
  • 52m 20s
  • 12 miles
  • 13.76 mile/hr
Comments:

With the exception of a few problems (blocked by vehicles & a popped chain), I kept it around 15 mph and felt good.
What would you do differently?:

I haven't been on my bike much at all lately. Need more time.
Transition 2
  • 02m 42s
Comments:

This transition was pretty long because the rack started to collapse when I put my bike up, and I had to get a volunteer. Otherwise, again, pretty swift for me.
Run
  • 30m 55s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a very good run time for me, and I felt good - there was zero temptation to walk.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - this was a great run for me.

Event comments:

The HMF always puts on pricey, but good races. The race course was well planned, it was well staffed, and they had ice cream! All in all, good.

Nice job, especially considering the problems you had! That must have been pretty frustrating when the bike rack collapsed. And, sorry to hear about the popped chain. I hate mechanical problems!

Good work coming back on the run though. Looks like you put the problems behind you and worked it out with the running shoes!

Great work...it seems so much of Tri's is overcoming obstacles and you had your share. I could definately see myself swimming towards to wrong buoy. Way to stay focused and finish strong

Great work Liz.  That sucks about the mechanical problems withteh bike, but you came back really strong on the run.  And I agree, the ice cream was awesome
