I may have run faster 10 years ago, but I don't have any records.  Either way, my training run this morning was the fastest I have run 3.1 miles since I started training for triathlons two years ago.

25 degrees is cold in Central Texas so I started running at a quicker pace in an effort to warm up.  With a pretty good 1st mile split, I decided to see how fast I could go for the duration.  While increasing my pace for subsequent splits, I ended up with a 9:10 overall pace, 28:26!  Slow by many standards, but great for me.

That's gorgeous! I've never hit a sub-30 standalone 5K in training or racing, so there you go.

Congrats!  I remember how great it felt to break 30 in the 5K.  It's a huge mental/physical barrier for a lot of runners.

Awesome! So exciting to break personal records.  Who cares about others' standards...think about it this way...it's just as hard for you to do a 9:10, as it is for someone who runs 6 min/miles to do a 5:30.
At least that's what I tell myself when I'm killing myself at a pace that's easy for someone else

Outstanding job!  Keep up the great work!  You're better than me; I thought about an outdoor run today and decided the dreadmill was a much more comfortable option!

Nice work! I was never a runner when younger, and when I started running and tri training it took a few years before I could get under 30 minutes for a 5k. You're doing great!
