Pre-race routine:

two slices of whole wheat toast with peanut butter, arrived at race 1 hour before start time, checked in and relaxed.

Event warmup:

Jogged about 3/4 mile at 10:00/mile pace just to loosen up

Comments:

Course started with a climb out by the discovery center. Rolling hills throughout, 1st mile was at a 7:31 pace, figured that was too quick but felt pretty good. Approaching mile 4 there was a killer climb which I had noticed on the way out but was much more difficult that I expected. Actually considered walking up the last little bit but stayed with it. Was able to pick the pace back up coming down the last 4 tenths to the finish, had a pretty good kick for me considering

What would you do differently?:

I went in expecting a 41:30 overall so pretty happy with the amount of training I had beforehand.
