My running is all outside.  Of course, I'm a truck driver, so I don't really have room to take a treadmill along with me.  Lol.  What I do is find a town that does a decent job with the roads, find somewhere to park, and go for a run.  I've had excellent luck with Whitehouse, OH, up near toledo, Winona, MN, and a few others.  Had one iffy day in Latrobe, PA, a while back though.  It was misting, and the roads were getting progressively icier.  Wound up turning back, and finishing the run around a well salted parking lot.  Dull.

I use yaktrax when the snow's packed and slick, but most of the time, it's just my nikes.  I wear fleecy sweat pants, under armor compression stuff top and bottom, and a dickies insulated sweatshirt in Hi-viz yellow.  Works dandily.  Can't imagine wanting to do a treadmill.  I like seeing the little towns.
