Subject: Cranberry Trifest
I waited a long time to post this race, to be honest I was really disappointed in myself and I didn't care to update my race log. But today I was bored at work and was reading through past race reports and thought it I should post it because I enjoy having a record of these things, good or bad.

There are plenty of reasons this race turned out the way it did. My wife and I had our first child, I changed jobs and had little time to train, but most of all I just didn't put the effort in. I gained almost all the weight I had previously lost back. I felt ashamed to be walking a 10k with an IM tattoo on my calf.
I'm glad to say I've been back at the gym, the eating still needs to get under control but that will come. I plan on doing this race in 2011 and I intend to beat my previous PR of 2:49.  It's easy to fall into old patterns especially when life starts mixing things up but no matter how far off course you get, find that buoy and make the long swim back.

Good luck out there :)
