Can someone give me a review of the Skins brand. I am not talking about swimskins, I am talking about the compression clothing.

Please give me your advice on the brand AND your opinion on compression in general.

Is compression only good for recovery, I don't really see a lot of it at the races. Why do tri tops and bottoms have to be so borring?

Thanks In advance.
Eric

I agree about clothing being boring! This is actually the first a am mentioning this but I am launching a new tri clothing brand early this spring called Dart Frog. It will not be boring and allow all athletes the ability to express themselves through their results and clothing. The website will be coming soon with our clothing concept designs. If anyone is interested send me a message and I'll get you more info as our launch date approaches. Also let me know what you all are looking for I want the company to allow all athletes to make a statement and not have to 'fit in' as with all the other plain clothing. Were starting small as to have the ability to cater to demands faster and have multiple clothing designs each season. Thanks and I hope to hear from some of you. I will post on here more in the future to keep anyone interested updated.

I have never worn Skins.  I don't know why it is so expensive, but I am big into Crossfit and it seems to be the brand of choice for that scene.

My tights have held up well and I bough them very small.  They do seem to help with recovery vs.nothing or compression socks.

I have some 2XU leggings and calf guards that I absolutely love, I've even slept in them after particularly long runs.  For me, they greatly ease the discomfort and I feel I bounce back quicker.  I've never run or competed in them as it's way too hot here.  I also have a guilty liking for the superhero type shiny silver designs.

I have 2 pair of SKINS - love them but don't really consider them compression - even though advertised as such - I have the zoot recovery tights and they are awesome.

I have 2 pair of the skins shorts, the old ones and the newer A400's, the newer style has a lot more compression,I run in them all the time, ran my last marathon in them.

I'm definitely sold on compression tights (although I don't wear Skin brand). When I first started running I wore them a lot during and after long runs (HM training), including sleeping in them sometimes, and I ran my HM wearing them. I used to find they helped a lot with reducing pain in my calves during a long run, and helped with the lower leg pain if I had to be on my feet for a while after a run. It's hard to rule out of the possibility of the placebo effect being at work, but I'm still sold.

I have SKINS compression shorts and also 2XU.

I find myself using the 2XU shorts more often because they are shorter. The SKINS are nice but are longer and a bit too much compression for me. However, they are good quality and I have worn them a lot despite being longer.

SKINS look sharp and are hella expensive.

I wouldn't buy into their "accelerated recovery" claims, though. That seems way-overhyped.
