40F / 4C
Sunny
Total Time = 00m
Overall Rank = 68/958
Age Group = M35-39
Age Group Rank = 5/82
Pre-race routine:

Drove in from Ft. Bragg and picked up my packet and chip and jogged back to the car.
Event warmup:

Warmed up with some stretching and pick ups, made sure to stretch the calves and ensure that the shins were good to go.
Run
  • 21m 34s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt very good and made sure I picked off folks up the hills and let them burn themselves out charging down the hills. Picked off quite a few folks, only got passed by one person the entire race. Felt good, but need to get some speed workouts in to boost the overall results.
What would you do differently?:

Get towards the front of the chute, had to walk / sidestep a bunch of walkers / fun runners
Post race
Warm down:

Walked and stretched a bit, talked to the one person who passed me that I didn't repass, jogged back to the car and my calves were really tight, but they loosened up

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still need to drop some weight and run some speed / track workouts

Event comments:

The race needs to announce that walkers and fun runners move to the back, or maybe just rank order their results by actual (chip) time and not gun time when you have a constricted start area, but over all it was well organized other than the start line issue.
