seriously, out of 16 people in my age group, all but one puts down a sub 8min mile? that's unheard of. i just came off a cold and well undertrained and i somehow pull out a sub 8mm, and i'm 2nd to last.

i'm happy with it regardless. i would have been happy with a 830mile so under 8 was like christmas.

been on the bike about 4 times since august so i wasn't expecting much. i had a few mtb rides around the holiday, but i was really unprepared for this bike ride. still had fun though even though i was blowing snot rockets about every half mile. gross. took one gel abt mile 13.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. just too weak on the bike to do much else.

never did t2 with socks on before. the velcro from the shoes sticks to the socks. that sucked. kind of freaked me off for a second when getting out of the shoes coming into t2. it was fine though. didn't really make any difference.

legs felt ok off the bike. haven't had a real brick in a long time. the heavyness wore off quick.
