The long story short is that I'm looking for a pool near the house that I can swim at. Although I love the masters classes, the fees really aren't in my budget, so I'm looking for somewhere I can swim without a class. I just found out Shapard's is closed. I can hit the Anderson YMCA for basically $6.25 a visit which isn't too bad. I used to go to the Greenville Life center at one point and remember it being fairly affordable. Are there any other options?

According to the local newspaper: The only pool in Anderson right now is the YMCA. The Clemson University pool is closed too, due to a leak. And the 'next closest' pool is in Central. (Again, this is what was written in the newspaper.)

It's $6.25 for the Anderson Y? Really? That's way better than I thought it would be....

I guess another "option," if you don't mind reallllly cold water is to get a wetsuit and swim in Hartwell. Brrrrr....

The $6.25 was if you buy like 12 visits for $75 and then get your card punched. Not bad until you figure if you swim 3 times a week it's $75 a month. I will be out at Hartwell as soon as the Wed night group starts up again. I'm just spoiled by a Alexandria Va masters classes. We had 12 different classes a week we could go to. and it was a pretty reasonable fee. I was just hoping to find something like that in this area.

Although they aren't opening back up until May, you can also consider the Westside Aquatic Center.  It is not too far from the Lifecenter and will be brand new when they open back up.  I used to swim there for $4.  Also, it's a 50m pool.  You would need to check out when they open up the dividers though.

Life Center will cost you around $50 a month.  If I were just going for the swim portion and didn't mind driving a couple of miles more I would hit the Caine Halter YMCA off of Cleveland Street.  Indoor pool plus an outdoor pool with a dome over it with great water temp (80ish).  Price point should be about the same.

if you are going to swim 3 times a week and the Y is a good option, why not just join the Y as an individual member?  I think it is just over $50/mo and you can swim anytime and as often as you like.  It would be cheaper than a punchcard and you don't have to worry about using up your visits too quickly.
