Pre-race routine:

Ate my bagel and PB. Drank water. Parked the car about 1 mile from the venue. My wife and I rode the bikes ther as opposed to taking the bus. Got transition set up and was ready.
I was really not prepared for this one. I started a new job mid July and had done zero training since. Really felt "off" that morning.
Event warmup:

Jumping jacks and stretch out. Water was warm so no problem.

Never train for the swim. I'm amazed at how many do that still have trouble with the swim. I guess I'm fortunate that the water doesn't scare me ( I do respect it) and I've never been close to a paninc attack. Did my typical outside start and made decent time. I do 13 to 15 freestyle, then roll on my back and kick a little with my feet (little kicks) and do an under water paddle with my arms. It works for now based on my extensive traing.....ha!

Same deal. Need to rubber band the shoes and get a tri suit. My shirt sticks to my wet body all the time, even when I dry off.

I really started to feel bad here. Very disappointed in my performance. With no hockey in the Summer and no training for at least a month I was toast. All work and no play really got me here. I wanted to quit after the bike.

Really hit the wall. Walked for most but did manage to shuffle in. Worst 5k ever.

Really need to get myself going again. Extremely disappointd.

Warm down:

Kept from throwing up. Drank gatorade and waited for the wife to come through the chute.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training......as in zippo.
