It was a good race, I enjoyed it at Harrah's.  Plenty of activities for the kids, etc.

I was one of the last one's in at 975, but we did get most of the swim in before the rain and lightening started back up.  I was swimming the last 200 meters pretty fast, trying to get out of that water because of the lightening.

It was a downpour for most of the bike course on us.  The headwinds were pretty bad heading out, but that tailwind on the back was nice.  There was some lightening on the bike course about 1/2 way thru our ride, and it was about 2 miles away.  One guy pulled up and went back.  I'm surprised more people didn't do that.  I considered it, but the lightening didn't seem to be very frequent.

The run course was pretty good.  It was a bit long, according to my Garmin GPS.  I clocked the run course at 6.73 miles, which would put it a full 1/2 mile over a 6.2.  Not sure what was up with that.  I following the course as it was marked, so I would imagine most everyone's recorded times appear to be a little slower than they would have liked by the final results.  I clocked a 9:45 pace on my garmin, my official time was a 10:45 pace.

Overall, I enjoyed the race.  Start2Finish does a good job with the organization and support.

I was told that S2F actually moved the turn around to the correct distance for the pros.

Great job everyone.  What a day.  I think I can recall racing in a few downpours but certainly not the thunder and lightening.  I hope everyone had a safe race.

And that .5 mile extra was brutal.  Totally demoralizing when I realized it.  Oh well.

I was VERY pleased with how S2F handled the weekend.  What a nightmare.  I felt like they were able to make adjustments periodically that saved the event (channeling water, announcements).  If you have a free moment, I encourage you to drop the RD Daniel a line.

Great Race

Great Venue

Weather could have been better!

I have heard that the turn around point in the run was not placed where it was suppose to be which made the run a 1/2 mile longer. Didn't really matter for me since I sucked it on the run, but I had a great time and look forward to next yers race, and also I look forward to reading everyones race report! Congrats to all finishers!

they've corrected it in the results. My pace went from a 9:19 to an 8:29 which is on par for what i had and normally run in these events. Great event, looking forward to next year.  My wife and best friend did the Sprint as a relay (mainly because one had an injured leg not allowing her to run and the other was just further down the injury ladder which allowed her to run).. Kids quest will allow us to participate in the OLY as a group, which will be awesome.. looking forward for redemption for next year..

The lightning made it interesting, but I tried to put it out of my mind.. enjoyed the challenge!

Congrats to everyone on a great race.
