Yesterday someone broke into my garage and took my bike and shoes. they left everything else alone (lawn equipment, power tools, three other bikes)

MIM is 5 days out and I am scrambling to try and find a bike and shoes!

Frustrating!

Dude...that sucks.  They even took your shoes? Sounds like they knew exactly what they were after. Probably someone who has been through your neighborhood before.  Sorry about the bad timing....hopefully you get a new sweet ride!

Just went by the lake. As mentioned definitely wetsuit legal for now. It was a crisp cool feeling. Far from cold. Let's hope it doesn't warm too much over the next 48 hours.

Did a short OWS yesterday up in Lakeland (much bigger lake - so colder - about 68 degrees).  I did 500 yds with a wetsuit and 500 yds without a wetsuit. Both were comfortable (a little cool at first), one was faster. Looking forward to it.

Water temp is 74.  I think the sprint will be fine.  Olympic might be questionable.  I strongly urged the RD to find the coldest spot of the lake.

I don't own a wetsuit so I may be the only one hoping for warmer water.  Driving over today.  I just found this thread today.  Anyone planning any sort of BT meet?

Weather for the sprint turned out pretty good. How was it down there for the OLY?

Great job Start2Finish!

After last years melting heat, I will take the rain all day long. I agree that it was interesting racing with lightning all around. The wind was what concerned me most. Made for a tough beginning to the bike leg. Overall, I thought the race was great and the new venue and course was excellent.I hope everyone had a great day!

After a little over half of the people had gotten into the water, it started raining along with lightning and thunder.  I was one of the last people in and my entire swim I kept seeing lightning while I was in the water.  It rained the off and on for an hour to hour half I would say.  So for almost everybody, you were wet the entire time.

The wind was not as bad today as it was yesterday.

wind made the first 5-7 or so miles challenging, wind driven rain kept you awake that's for sure..  had a wetsuit, but didn't use it water was fine. Swim sucked for me though, had a HECK of a time spotting the little orange buoys for some reason. To top it off calf locked up hard on me about 75 yrds from the finish.. only way I could move forward was by hopping on the ground until it released alowing me to swim the last 50 or so.. washed out a couple of minutes, but oh well.

Bike started out ok, had to keep the power in check the first 7-10 miles due to the calf letting me know it was ready to get my attention again.. loosened up and was able to finally put some speed down on th back end, don't think i dropped below 22 ish except for a couple of spots (reflectors anyone?). Run was ok, looking at my splits I thought I did better. Chalk it up to an "ok" day.. 2:53 on the finish, was hoping for something in the 2:40s.. will have to work harder for Music City.

Great venue though, liked the course a lot as well. Will come back for this one next year.

Hope everyone else had a good day and made it home safe!

Oh #875
