Yep- my first official Olympic distance. Looking forward to it! I did the Intl. last year and had a good time.
I am a little nervous about my hotel though, it got mixed reviews. I hope it isn't a fleabag.

Any word  if some of the Pro's are racing? I know Lieto and Macca raced it last year.

9 days to go! I can't wait I am pretty pumped for this race.  I have been wanting to do a MIami tri for 2 years and will be moving from Florida so this was my last chance.

Olympic 200+ clydesdale

watched the 2009 video last night, looks to be a very fast bike, but the swim looks like you go against the current the whole way?

I have been racing the Nautica South Beach since they started 3 years ago...and...it has been always wet-suit legal....but...looks like this year...it will be NO wet-suit legal...the water temps have been close to the limit...I just raced yesterday...but..it was in a Lake...and...the water temp was in 80oF...and...it was not too bad....cuz...we had a weak cold front...dry air...and...low humidity...

I don't know what to suggest to you...but....If would be me...I would bring it with me just in case...lalso...ast year the ocean was very choppy....\

Good Luck...!!!

Hey Guys...

For all of you concerned about water temp. Check here:

http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/dsdt/cwtg/satl_tmap.html

As I mentioned before...We have been in the limit...78oF....

I don't think it will be wet-suit legal....

See ya on Sunday...and...Good Luck...!!!

Another beautiful day down in Miami. Picked up packet and i'm #304. Heard the water temp is around 78-79 degrees and it might hit 80 by the morning. So i doubt it's wetsuit legal. I rode this morning and there was zero wind! Hope it's like that tomorrow morning. Water looked calm and fast!

See you all in transition! Time to carb load!

My wife said the Classic didn't start until almost 7:55 by her watch and my buddy was doing it in the first wave which was supposed to be at 7:40.  I guess they made everyone go to a prerace meeting and then walk back to start so that delayed a lot of it.  Then heard there was a pro at the prereace meeting they were waiting for.

last year i think the race started at 7:20, here most of the olympic racers were done with the race by the time the classic distance started.

When leaving transition, saw a guy with one of those beach rental bikes with the baskets on them, it had a race number, I asked if he did the race with that and he said he did.  Wow thats impressive
