The only benefit of these shoes is that they only "work" when you walk in them (not that they actually work).  Therefore, it's a good thing if they get otherwise sedentary people to walk more.

But yeah, I thought that commercial crossed a line.


I agree.

Didn't see the commercial.

Otherwise, 90% of the time, the only people I see wearing these shoes are middle-aged obese people. They don't seem to be working.

Of course shape ups don't replace a trainer.

But it's a commercial, and it got your attention...

I'm guessing MUCH of the things said in commercials are tongue and cheek. 

I don't think many people lick the dorito dust off of other people's fingers either (in case we want to start a thread about the reality of that one as well).
