I've known Scott Parr for quite a number of years and have been a fan of his even before I met him in person. Scott has been a professional team mechanic for Motorola in the Lance Armstrong era and has written a book called Tales from the Toolbox.

His latest venture is a beautiful new operation in Canton, Michigan called The Tri Shop.com.

I say welcome on board to the online shopping community to Scott and his crew from The Tri Shop.com. It is likely to become a strong resource in the tristate area.

Thanks Tom!  Their website is great.  I'll have to check out the store soon.

When it rains it pours.  We haven't had a good shop in Canton for years and were lucky enough to have Sweet Bikes open up this past fall near Ford and I275 and Seth there does solid work, now the Tri Shop, and I've heard rumor Two Wheel Tango was considering opening a shop on Ford Rd.

When I was in TWT getting fit on my P2, I was talking with Jess, and she said that they weren't printing new material until the Canton Store opens.  That leads me to believe that the Canton store is a reality!

Dennis at Two Wheel Tango has been an industry leader for some time. His business has survived and grown in a tough economy. That speaks volumes.

Should make for some wheeling and dealing as one only has to travel 4 or so miles and hit three real nice shops along or near Ford Rd.  Not that were in the market but it's real Nice!  I just hope they can all survive in such close proximity.

Wow.  This may sound like a dumb question, and I'm certainly not complaining, but what makes Canton so special that three stores decide to open up there?

I'm a bit confused. Is this new shop, The Tri Shop, actually in a partnership with Two Wheel Tango?
On TWT website, there's a logo for thetrishop.com, but I don't see anything about a new physical location...

I don't want to speak out of turn on this; that is a better question for the crew at The Tri Shop.com.

Perhaps one of their crew will chime in...

Canton is a great location with easy access to Detroit Metro Airport, I-94, Hines Drive to the north and is nearly equi-distant between the Detroit Metro, northern suburbs (a bit farther...) and Ann Arbor. It's an excellent location. IKEA put a store there....

Here is the official word from Scott Parr, former team Motorola and founder of the The Tri Shop.com via Bicycle Retailer and Industry News Magazine:

Looks like we may only have the two shops then with the tri shop being an off shoot of TWT.  I had heard something about TWT looking at a shop on Ford Rd closer to Ikea.   The store being up on Canton Center is what led me to believe they were separate businesses.

Either way with The Tri Shop and Sweet Bikes we finally have some nice shops in the area.

It's nice to see the stores down that way. I live near Romeo, we need a store up here! Maybe I will have to make the drive down there, drop the wife off at IKEA, and do my own shopping!

Between Scott and Dennis I anticipate good things. It's worth keeping an eye on.

Now, if they could just do something about those Michigan winters...  Surprised

I know Dennis. He mentioned a new TWT in Canton coming but I hadn't heard about thetrishop.com being a part of it.  I can't wait to see it all in my home town!

I went to the store on Saturday and couldn't find it. The address on the websiter says 6111 Canton Center Road, which is a dirt patch at the moment. Phoned the number on the website and just got a recorded message. Does this place exist yet? My wife thinks it's just an online store. Was looking forward to buying some shoes and pedals...

I don't think they were to open the actual store until the end of the month from what I recall.  And from the address it's in the old pool store which would've been the first building north of the dirt patch you checked out.  The building has been there for years as several different things, the last being Pooltown.  The last few times I've been in the area for work or pleasure it's been nighttime so I haven't noticed if there was any activity.

Scott Parr here from The Tri Shop. Sorry for the delayed response and confusion, we've been a bit buried getting this new business up and running. The new Canton building has had a few construction delays, but we expect to be in there by the end of this month (fingers crossed). It will be a 2 Wheel Tango retail store and The Tri Shop will operate it's online distribution center from this location as well. The retail store will offer a wide variety of products and services including triathlon specific products and professional fit services. Local customers can also pick-up/return The Tri Shop online orders from this location as well.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions and thanks in advance for your support.

Maybe some kind of map would help. I road my bike up and down Canton Ctr. Rd.  (Not a bike friendly Rd.) I could not find the place. Embarassed

Dan, it's directly across from the small plaza on the east side of the Canton Center that has a Benitos Pizza, Saad Meats, and a karate type gym.  It still has the Pool Town sign on the front of the building with blue overhangs.  There was a work type van when I drove by this morning so it doesn't look anywhere close to be open at this point.
