Gotta love CA this time of year. According to Accuweather, it'll be 78 and sunny for the Tour de Palm Springs this Saturday the 12th.

But the forecast for the UCSD Tritonman tri on the 20th says it'll be on the third straight day of rain. remember last year's slush pit? That's sounding pretty good right now!

I saw that also, should be a nice day Saturday!  I'm comin up from Oceanside for the TdPS.  What's morning rides like there now?  I was thinking just knee warmers and toe covers, maybe a base layer under a LS jersey for the century start.  I don't wanna have a bunch of crap shoved in my jersey all day.

That's about how I'm dressing, too. These days, the mornings rides feel cold and are about 50. As of right now, it looks like will be a lot warmer at the start, 59. It'll feel toasty with the sun out after a few minutes.

My plan is for just arm warmers and for once....socks.

Can't wait for this weekend.  Doing the half mary on sunday as well.

If you see a tattooed guy on a QR tri bike, say "what's up."

How about no socks and no toe covers?  I think I've only worn socks once in the year that I've been riding my bike.  Are toe covers absolutely necessary without socks?  I'm thinking just arm warmers and I'm set.

No, neither are necessary if it doesn't bother you.  My hands and feet tend to get pretty cold, so I'm wearing socks and covers.  I'd rather take the stuff with me and leave it in the car if its warm before the start or just stuff the covers in a jersey pocket when it warms up.

Little too great for me.  I forgot to sunblock my legs.  First sunburn of the year and it's still winter! Laughing  It was a good turnout though.

Fantastic ride! Other than the major congestion up till the 50 mile cutoff, it was beautiful.

Defintely beautiful day.  There was a lot of friendly people and there was a very big turnout even for the century ride.   It was a very humbling day for me for sure.

Half Mary went great. Managed a 1:50:17 for my very first. Was a little tired from the century, and all the hills slowed me down a bit, but all in all a great experience.

Great job on the HM! I was out today and yesterday for short runs on tired legs, and kept thinking how glad I was that I didn't bite off the race this morning.
