You have to be kidding me is this the best you can do a proposed boycott by a un-named group where if you click for more information you get a pop up ad!!!  COME ON MAN!!!!

Uhh, the group is named, and a quick google comes up with quite a bit of additional sources:

http://www.freedomworks.org/news/tea-party-affiliated-groups-call-for-immelt-to-res

Who is Freedomworks you ask?  Good question:

 Okay, want more sources:

Hey Phil, question for you.

http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_6ec61ea6-4b74-11e0-976e-001cc4c002e0.html

According to this article you will have to start paying 12% of health premiums and 5.8% of your income will go to your pension. They also say that you NO longer are forced to pay union dues and that they are not planning furlough days after June of this year, whereas you had 16 in the last two years.

So my question is, have you been able to run the numbers yet to see what you were paying in dues and furlough? And will these changes affect your amount of take home pay or will it essentially be a wash as far as your paycheck is concerned?

The bolded is what I think you missed, above.

I can run some numbers, but not at this time.  I'll do some checking when I have a chance.
Regarding the Union dues, I never paid because I was "grandfathered" in when they implemented it as mandatory (or something) a number of years ago.

I've been receiving HR information that's been answering a number of these "How will this affect sick leave, etc. ..." questions.  I need to go over the information this weekend (hopefully).

Correct, I did miss the no.

Any ideas what the normal union dues are?

Just curious as to how all this is going to shake out for someone like you. I hope it doesn't affect you too dramatically.

Thanks.
The dues varied.  I'm trying to remember (since this was almost 10 years ago), but I don't.  It could've been like 25 bucks or so per pay period - could have been more.

Formulating from the information I read, the takeout starts at the end of April (I'm every 2 weeks), and the takeout is in ONE paycheck (not split in two), yielding a HUGE drop of over $320!!  Quite an impact - now the wife and I are re-evaluating our own budget!

*sarcasm* Hey, that's okay, since I'm sure part of it will go towards the new jobs for my old grade-school neighbor, Attorny General. J.B. VanHollen (yep, we rode the bus together when we were kids and I played at his house a few times), even though we are broke:
