Subject: Bike Reassembly
I bought a used bike a few months ago and after a few bumps it is finally being shipped to me.  My problem is that it will need to be reassembled.  It is a Felt S22.  My question to everyone is a suggestion to where I should take it?  When I lived in the city I would probably take it to Get A Grip (I got a discount when I was in the Chicago Tri Club) but I live in Northbrook now.  Any ideas?  Should I have it directly shipped there?

Turin in Evanston did a reassemble for me for $45 a couple years ago.  Its just a reassemble, not a tune or anything.  Took a day and did a great job.  See if you can package it with a tune up.

What about Garner on Waukegan?  Maybe Running Away in Deerfield?  Higher Gear in HP is a good shop.

Talk to the shops to see if they will accept the package in the first instance.  May not want to take that liability and rather have you bring it in to them.

my fiance is an excellent bike mechanic... with lots of good references.  i'm not sure how much he charges, but he would do an awesome job on your Felt.

let me know if you want his contact info... we live in the south burbs, but i'm sure he coudl working something out if you live elsewhere in the city, etc.

running away let go of their top rated mechanic last year... i would never go back here after that.  they also let go of an awesome bike fitter.  not sure who is there now... but i don't trust them after they cleared out their intial staff they started with.
