Why those?

Bad.. looking forward to it!  Hope your fundraising is going better than mine.  I'm still need to raise about $900.  I need to get on it.

I want a set to try out the whole aero wheel thing.  I like the idea behind the HED 3's and the Rev X's.  the Rev X's are much cheaper so I thought I would give them a try and see how they feel.

There are several sets currently for sale on ebay, just do a search for "spinergy rev x" and you will find them. You may want to keep in mind that they have been made "illegal" by some sanctioning bodies due to safety issues, which definitely plays into current market value. Take it for what it's worth, but I would save up the $$ and keep an eye on Ebay and Craig's List for a reasonably priced set of Hed3's which are legal in every race. Just my .02 for what it's worth.

I was looking to buy a pair as well but then started to read up on them and became unsure hence the question. Seems another poster here is echoing some of the feedback I previously read. I'm passing on them but there is a pair for $450 on craigslist in the so-cal area.

People call the Rev X the 'death star', not because they look cool, but because of the catastrophic failures it was known for.

They also stopped making the Rev X over a decade ago, which may explain why they are cheaper than most H3's out there.

IMO, the H3's are worth the extra $ over a Rev X.
