Subject: ANT+ HRM to Pair with Watch/Bike Computer
I'm new to triathlon and am looking to buy my first HRM, but there are so many to choose from I don't know what to pick.

I have a Bontrager bike computer that tracks everything I need for the bike (speed, distance, cadence), and will even pair with an ANT+ HRM.

I now want to buy an HRM that is ANT+ capable, but also has a watch so that I can pair it with both devices and be able to use it for the bike and the run.  The Garmin 305 is the one I see most recommended, but because I have a bike computer already, it seems like overkill and I really don't like how big it is.

The only things I really care about are that it will pair with both my bike computer and comes with a watch.  The only other thing I want it to do is to work as a stop watch to track my total time and my splits.  Also, waterproof would be ideal.

Anyone have any ideas of an economical HRM/watch combo that I should get?

I think that the problem you will run into is that most watches that have an ANT HRM will fit into your "overkill" category.

I went with the FR60 with the HRM and Foot Pod.  Works great.

The HRM pairs with my computer so I can see it on my bike, but also pairs with my watch so that I can keep track of my HR and compare the data on Garmin Connect.

If anyone is having similar concerns, pick up the FR60.  I paid $130 for the Watch, HRM, Foot Pod, and USB stick (to upload data) on Amazon.

Very happy with the Garmin.

I also recommend the Garmin FR60.  I have the garmin speed/cadence sensor and heart rate sensor paired with the watch and my Trek Node bike computer.  I like this setup because I can download my workouts to my computer, keep the watch on my wrist for easy transitions and still have the bike computer in an easy-to-read position on the bike.  For me, it's the ideal setup.
