Pre-race routine:

Last race of this series for the year, so I got there early to get a good spot on a rack. Laid out my T area and BS'ed w/ friends.
Event warmup:

Struggled into my wetsuit in the heat and swam about 100 yds.
Swim
  • 06m 14s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim, though I think I was overheating a little in the wetsuit (or maybe it is just that I was worried about that and concentrating on it). Sighted great and was able to draft pretty well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

T1 went pretty well, had my usual trouble w/ the wetsuit on my heals but nothing major.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 31m 32s
  • 11 miles
  • 20.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Went pretty hard on the bike this time. However, was able to settle the HR before the run. AVG HR - 167
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Felt good, had a little trouble tying my damn shoes!!! But otherwise it went smooth. Speed laces!!
Run
  • 23m 34s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

Didn't not feel good on the run at all. Was on the verge of heaving up everything a few times but pressed on anyways. Just tried to concentrate on a smooth efficient stride and cadence. AVG HR - 176
What would you do differently?:

Have the weather be cooler. :)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a little trying to get the blood back into my head.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing, just hit the limit of my abilities at this time.

Event comments:

Great training series, I hope that it is put on again next year.

Dave, great job, nice work on all 3 splits.

Seth, if I survive my HIM, I will head to ocean and bring a pair of clippers with me...the kelp will never know what hit it

hmmm, something wrong with the bike split?  No wonder you were so fast and I didn't see you on the second loop .  Great job man.
