Total Time = 1h 32m 46s
Overall Rank = 170/195
Age Group = 45-54
Age Group Rank = 13/18
Pre-race routine:

Woke up around 4:45 am and had a banana and a bagel along with drinking some coffee. Stomach was just a tad upset but that is usually what happens. I was probably more nervous because I basically hadn't trained enough at all for this. Wasn't sure what to expect
Swim
  • 10m 28s
  • 437 yards
  • 02m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Hadn't swam enough at all for this. And it showed. I had to stop at the wall two times to catch my breath. I'm sure it was from being ill earlier, so I didn't have high expectations. I did feel like I finished strong. I didn't die at the end. :)
What would you do differently?:

Stay healthy so I could be better prepared.
Transition 1
  • 02m 33s
Comments:

Was looking for my dad and kids when I came into transition so I think that messed with my concentration. Took entirely too much time. I really need to work on this A LOT
What would you do differently?:

Practice, practice, practice
Bike
  • 37m 56s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 16.61 mile/hr
Comments:

Brought my road bike instead of my TT bike for this race and wish I would've brought the tri bike. The course was completely flat and I think I would have added some additional speed on this course. Next year..tri bike!
What would you do differently?:

Try to find a flat place to actually work on spinning that long. It's different to not have ANY hills to go down at all.
Transition 2
  • 02m 23s
Comments:

Transition is really looooooong at this tri.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more
Run
  • 39m 26s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 12m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

I got a rock in my shoe in transition that about 1.5m I had to take my shoe off and get it out of my sock. It took at least 4-5 minutes of my time because then I couldn't get the stupid sock and shoe back on! I should have done it sooner because it affected my running before that. Without that problem it was a great course to run.
What would you do differently?:

Be more careful in transition while putting on my running shoes
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched and drank some chocolate milk. Didn't stretch enough and I paid the price later.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick beforehand and not having had enough training. I did this for the "fun" of it this year and so I had low expectations. I could have pushed a little more. And I am really bummed about the rock in my shoe. It hurt the entire time and affected my running.
