Last year, Corktown was my first time running... ever (honestly). I started training 6 weeks prior using a couch to 5k program.  I know that it is slow by most people's standards, but I was very happy with my time of 30:48.  This race is what kick started me into believing that I could do more.

I've been thinkig about this one. I've never been to the Corktown ares. What's it's like safety wise?

Do you register in advance then pick up your packet from one of the stores, or do you register and pick up all in one?

Thanks!

It is safe on this day because there are thousands of people down there for both the run and the St. Patricks Day parade that follows.  I wouldn't recommend going down that way on any other day though (coming from the girl who's car was stolen while she was eating at Slow's BBQ).

I'd register in advance for two reasons...you are guaranteed a shirt and because there is always a HUGE HUGE line on race day to get your packet at the starting line.  Avoid that mess if you can.

There will be lots of Fraser folks out running this one too.  Last year the Hounds had a tent...any one know if they'll be there again this year?  I wanna see Travelmonkey in his kilt doing a jig again!

Right now, I dont think we will have a tent.  To be honest, I dont know how many GRACING GREYHOUNDS will be out there this year.  I am sure there will be a few, but probably not like last year.

I am on the fence about running this year, for whatever reason 3/13 is a popular day this year.

I tried, sounds like they're a bit too busy right now.  I will and do miss them.

I'm bailing out.  I have to be at the airport at 5pm for a flight to Alaska.  Poor planning on my part....thought I could get more done this weekend than I have.  Have fun and drink some Guinness for me.
