Subject: VA Beach rides

My wife is doing Shamrock this weekend so I need a group ride to get into on Saturday

I see Fat Frogs and Conte's both do Saturday rides, any comments on either, or other rides I should check out?

We're staying a bit further inland, both shops are about 11 miles from our hotel, not a big deal but might be nice to be a bit closer.

i think bike beat has a ride too.

the fat frogs ride are good, not a lot of traffic on the routes. my friends and i ride the same routes.. so we pass one another.

i haven't been on a contes ride.

there's also the contes and east coast bikes, in downtown norfolk.. they have a ride too. ive ridden those several times.. great ride. another option i guess.

I cannot speak for Conte's, but when I lived down there Fat Frogs rides were very well run.  They were lots of people, and there are no-drop A, B, and C groups that go out separately.

The Conte's ride is great.  There is a VERY fast A ride and a slower B ride.  If you do the A ride, be prepared to ride very fast.  There are 3 loops and the last loop ends at Starbucks at Hilltop.  

I've never done the Fat Frogs ride but I've heard good things about it.  That ride is more in the country, so there is less traffic.

I have ridden with both and they are good people.

Conte's: Bring it. Seriously, get ready for a workout. I havent rode with them in a while, but it seems like it has not changed.

Fat Frogs: Several pace groups and in the country with very little traffic. Havent rode with them in a while either, but I am sure its still the same.
