I bought one of those in...uh...2003? I never use it now, but it was intriguing at the time.

I don't believe these devices actually help you in triathlon, because unless there's something seriously wrong with your lungs (like if you're missing one), lung capacity is not a limiter of your performance.

Completely useless.  There are a number of threads in the Triathlon Talk forum where some docs get into the physiology of it and explain how it can't do you any good whatsoever.

This is basically the same as breathing through a straw. If this is something you are focusing on, I would suggest saving the $$ and use a straw. After 20 mins of breathing through a straw you will feel it, I myself do not believe in it, but hav done the straw thing once and it is harder than you would anticipate.
