Subject: A bike question - IM Lake Placid
Here's the deal. I'll be on a family camping trip near Lake Placid and was thinking about taking the bike and riding the Iron Man loop. More than likely I'd cut off some of the mileage, but still be riding in the 40-45 mile range. My long rides now are in the 20-30 mile range. I was wondering, especially from those that have ridden it, if I was taking too much of a jump at this point in my training? Training logs are up to date if you want to review those before posting an opinion.

I also have the option of taking a lunch break about half way through since the family will be in and around the area, most likely shopping around Lake placid, but I could start at the half way point, ride into Placid and have lunch and them have them pick up me on the way back to the campground.

Thanks for any advice.

Chris.

Sounds like fun.  If you are in the area for more than a couple days, I would break up the course and enjoy the ride

You should fine.  Just take it easy and enjoy.  The lunch break could be nice, but I don't think it's necessary.  Have fun,

Jessica

Just carry your cell phone with you.  If you want to call it quits, call your family to pick you up!
