I know there's a few of us from Golden & nearby.  Anyone affected by this fire?

We're very close, but not affected yet.  I used to live up GG Canyon & feel for everyone who is having to evacuate.  Scary!!

Sorry to hear that... I live in Castle Rock (alone) and can spare some room if anyone needs a place to stay.  I can't even imagine how hard it would be to be evacuated.

I was watching the smoke during my run yesterday, thinking that its awfully early in the year for fire season to ramp up...hopefully some of that Pacific rain will make it our way really soon!

It's been ~12 actual homes that have been evacuated, all up GG canyon.  Everybody else have been real lucky so far but the winds today could change that real quick.

We live across 93 in N. Golden and watching the flareups over the ridge the past couple of nights has been horrible.

Great offer McGil.  As I went to sleep last night I was remembering when I was 20 and me and a date got caught in a flash flood, couldn't get home, before cell phones and all land lines were down, and my car got flooded out.  We went to the first house with a light on and the women there took one look at us and said "get on in, your not getting anywhere tonight."  We spent the night with this family and I will always remember their generosity and kindness.

Our house literally backs up to the fire in Mountain Ridge.  There are two fire lines behind our house and the firemen and trucks have been on our street all week.  They are amazing men and women and put us triathletes to shame in terms of dedication and work ethic.  It's better tonight but we shall see what tomorrow brings.  Been a wild ride the past 3 days.
