Pre-race routine:

Got to Watford that morning, way early, by train. Went into the tent, shopped for shoes (no luck) got some hot tea and chilled out. Literally, it was cold.
Event warmup:

Jogged to the start line and stretched a little then went to the portalet and then to the start corral.

Comments:

The course was harder than I thought. I was thinking about how many times Britain has been invaded and thought `those soldiers must've been in good shape to run up and down all these hills, in armor, weilding swords and after marching hundreds of miles from the coast.' But then I remembered that they all did it slowly and somehow that takes away from their accomplishment and makes me feel better about myself.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Good times. Had a nice chinwag with a few blokes along the way.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Got some fruit and my bag and then walked another 5 miles nearly all the way to St. Albans to meet some friends for lunch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Unwillingness to try harder.

Yes, Tony, but remember back a few centuries ago they wore some heavy-azz armor trodding up dem hills - they were some tuff sums-o'-batches back then, and they didn't know anything about all this cardio-loading, HR monitoring and schitt, but I digress.

However, a one hour and forty minute half-marathon is NOTHING to sneeze at.  Nice job, Tony!
