Got up early. Had a bagel with PBJ. had a cup of coffee.

Comments:

Course was super choppy. They tried to move the course in closer to shore since the waves were so bad, but it was blowing right into the shore we were on so not much they could do. Huge whitecaps. Got smacked a few times with a wave in the face. Overall felt pretty good considering conditions.
What would you do differently?:

Slow. Had a hard time getting suit off feet. rented unit so I didn't want to tear it. Then getting shirt on was tough. Went with sleeves since it was cold out.
What would you do differently?:

Practice with wetsuit. Forget the long sleeve shirt.

Felt pretty good on bike. A little slow going into the wind. Closer to end I began to cramp a little in calfs, but otherwise pretty strong.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate better.

Slow. Very slow. My legs were cramping in and out from the bike. The trail was hilly and every uphill was killer, but going down was ok. I felt ok on the flat sections, but the little hills about did me in. One guy passed me 200 yards before the finish but I didn't have enough left in the tank to challenge.
What would you do differently?:

Drink better on the bike so I'm in better shape to run. and train!

Warm down:

Walk around. Had a bananna and a sub and drinks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My lack of drinkng on the bike, and my training base. This was a longer bike than I had really trained for to that point.

Event comments:

Overall a good race. They allowed sprint and oly folks to get their awards prior to the half folks finish, but they didn't do the raffle until the half finished. I couldn't stay since I had a 5 hour drive ahead pulling my camper to get home. I got a nice plaque for 2nd place clyde. It was a well run event overall and a nice place to race.
