Subject: RE: Are you happier now that you are doing triathlons? Hey. I am a happy person cross training and racing tri's every chance I get. My whole year is anchored in fun competitions with hordes of healthy, up beat people. When I do not train...injury...stuff...whatever...I am not easy to be around. My life is activity...play as a child, judo, hockey, swimming, and more hockey as a youth...and rugby and tri as an adult. I am only happy when I have that moment that I can be entirely physical. I just met with my surgeon yesterday who claims I need three arthroscopic intrusions into my knee. Can't run for a while but he says my biking will help both pre and post op. And who kicks when they swim. Not me. I love a sport where a nasty injury to one body part is just an opportunity to strengthen and focus on other parts. I can't get into into IMLP til 2012 anyway. Tri is up there near the peak of fun, fitness and lifestyle, but I would be a happy person in any athletic pursuit. The bonus with tri is that the deeper you get into it the more it permeates your athletic discipline, rest, nutrition, and priority setting. Cheers. Swampcreature Powered by your positive vibes. |
