Pre-race routine:

Alarm set to go off at 4:15 am.On the road by 4:30 am for 30 minute drive to offsite parking at NetApp. On the bus and heading to USA Baseball complex at 5:15 am.
Event warmup:

I did a lot of stretching as it was cold with tems in the low 40's.

Comments:

I felt great in the first few miles and as we made the turn onto the American Tobacco Trail I got into a great rythm. I had a goal to try and break 2:20. Achieving this would set a new PR for a half for me. As the miles added up, I knew the 2:20 mark was attainable. I was able to finish with a PR of 6 minutes! The training I have been doing for my upcoming triathlon definitely helped.

Event comments:

Due to transportation issues, the race started at least 15 minutes late. There long lines post-race for the return buses to the offsite parking. The organizers of this event have already sent a couple of communications to all participants acknowledging the transportation problems and they are already working on improvements for 2012.
