Horizon Organic 1% chocolate milk. Before you laugh, google "chocolate milk as recovery drink." It will surprise you!!!

I would love to see the results of someone using chocolate milk as their sports drink.  That sounds awesome!

Just how organic do you want this to be?  Gatorade isn't even close.

Some info, including mixing frozen OJ concentrate, water and salt to get performance:

http://www.atg.wa.gov/teenconsumer/health_and_safety/sports_drinks.htm

and a few more ideas here:

http://walking.about.com/cs/fluids/a/recipesportsdr.htm

Just google "homemade sports drink" or something similar, and you'll have plenty of recipes to choose from.

I don't know of any organic sports drinks as of recently. Whole Foods carried one but I no longer see it anymore. I used to buy it for my son who is a swimmer. It did have a little lower calorie count, but seems to have been sufficient for a 12 year old.

I think, not sure, if I can recall reading, Infinit is all natural. It is for sure better in quality than Gatorade. I am a regular user and went with it as I was dodging HFCS. Check it out, it is not organic but may be all natural.

I found this stuff called Ultima Replenisher that is a mix you add to water. Got it from Natural Grocer's, but haven't tried it yet (just bought one packet to check the taste).

It says 100% non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan...I wouldn't say it's "organic", but it's probably closer than most out there.

I guess I should have been more clear.  I am looking for a drink with calories and CHO.

IGnore mine above, then...it's more of an electrolyte drink.

I've tried Recharge before but has only 70 Kcal per 8oz.  I need more Kcal than this for a long bike ride.  I am better off with a powder so I can concentrate it.

Coconut Water.

Naked's 11.2 oz serving has:
60 calories
20mg of sodium
650mog of potassium
14g of crabs
11g of sugar.

Personally, I just use IM Perfrom or Gatorade, but this is likely the best natural sport drink.

One link . ( Sorry that you will have to open a new tab and copy and paste, I am having some issues linking.) There are many more.

NOTE: Chocolate milk is a recovery drink, not a "during sport drink."

I've been using water mixed with honey, lemon and a bit of salt. Doesn't get any more natural than that.

I've recently found a new sports drink called Wholedration that is the only one that is Organic and Non-GMO verified AND actually worth using. Other natural products I have tried might be natural, but they lack in their formulation. You can tell the guys that created Wholedration know what they are doing. It has a good electrolyte profile, uses high quality ingredients, it's not too sweet, and is easy to drink. I've gone through about half a container so far and it has worked really well in my training. Plus the taste is up there with the best I've had. If organic is what you are looking for, I believe this is the only option in a powder.

I've been using this for about a year. Lightly flavored, not too sweet. My kid loves it.

Zombies seems more and more frequent.

2 part juice, 1 part water and a pinch of salt. No added artificial flavours/colours.

I've thought about trying to move to something else, but all the races have gatorade or something very similar. So, I train with gatorade because it's easy. I try to keep (most of) the rest of my intake to quality ingredients, i figure a few gatorades a week can't hurt. I've found the better I keep my nutrition the rest of the week, the better my stomach tolerates the sugar rush of gatorades and gus during appropriate activity.

I did try out mixing half coconut water, half water and it was pretty good at supplying what I needed, but if you didn't wash out the receptacle RIGHT away DANG it smelled terrible and was hard to get clean. I killed a camelback that way. If you're less lazy than I, let me suggest coconut water.
